Entrepreneur is someone who recognizes a social problem and uses entrepreneurial principles to organize, create, and manage a venture to make change. This was emphasized by Eddy Sariaatmadja, on Wednesday 31st March 2010, in public lecture held at Kigali Institute of Science and Technology
Business entrepreur strongly measures performance in profit and return, a social entrepreneur focuses on creating social capital. Entrepreneurship is to strengthen social and environmental objectives and targets.
Speaking at the occasion, Professor Abraham Atta Ogwu, the university
Rector, said that there are only two universities; one where
u attend lectures and thereafter u sit for an exam and second
university is called real life, where you do things on own and
nobody will ask you about that, you meet challenges and yourself
think hard on you will overcome all the challenges in order
to have a clear focus for the future and betterment for your
life.

He told the students that they are lucky to be where they are, and they should always think about developing themselves and society as well. This enables one to be confident and having that willingness that he can perform better.
Entrepreneurship undertakes innovations, finance and business acumen in an effort to transform innovations into economic goods.
Meanwhile, Mr Marc Hottzman Vice Chairman of Barclays Capital said that a person should know his strengths and look for opportunities to capitalize on them, expand your network with other friends and take advantage of professional development opportunities.
He added that a person can not succeed when he has not tried to attempt on something and the way to success. And failing does not mean that you are incapable, today u fail and tomorrow you succeed. We should be among the people who make things happen not who see things happening.
It is true; seek out additional responsibilities that allow showcasing the skill-sets. It’s also a good idea to find a mentor and gain their perspective on the career development. And, use any downtime that he or she has as an opportunity to self-improve. |
