Kigali City Council held a presentation on Kigali city master plan at Kigali Institute of Science and Technology.
The  master plan  tackles  a number of issues by focusing  on overall Vision for the growth of the city, in a general concept, regulates infrastructure installations, real estate development while the conserving natural environment.

Kigali long range vision based 2020 will be a dynamic livable and environmentally sustainable city and center of national economic growth. Kigali city as   “Hub” & Safe haven for Central and Eastern Africa  with the highest quality in education and healthcare, technology and telecommunications, transportation, finance and Investment center, tourism  and natural environment.
Rwandan community plays a significant role in developing the country in sectors that affect the Rwanda growth. Kigali city council respectively designed the master plan   that covers a number of districts in the country.

The master plan aims at developing an urban growth strategy that will guide the growth and development of Kigali City in a manner that makes the best use of available land and infrastructure.

The master plan is recommended in decentralizing growth strategy, regional transportation network, urban growth defined by natural features, walk able community centers, environmental based infrastructure and increased densities in land use management.
